Pictorial Weaving
Learn the basics of pictorial tapestry weaving while creating a small sample on a handmade frame loom. Choose from already drawn motifs or draw your own and leave with the skills to create more weavings at home! The finished object will be roughly 4x6, no weaving experience needed, all materials provided. We will start the class by creating our frame loom out of repurposed cardboard.
Dallas Weaving Co. @ Coppell Maker’s Market
Dallas Weaving Co. will be selling handmade woven textiles at the Coppell Maker’s Market. Booths will be set up inside and outside of the Coppell Arts Center, and events are featured throughout the market!
Rag Rug Weaving Session 1
Learn the basics of floor loom weaving, while participating in the sustainable practice of using up scrap fabric for a handwoven rag rug. Choose from a variety of cloth provided, or bring your own sentimental pieces from home to incorporate into your very own rug. This workshop will serve as an introduction to floor loom operation and will teach you how to employ simple weave structures. Rugs will be tied off and finished with fringe - ready to be used in your home right away! No prior weaving knowledge is needed for this workshop, finished rug size: 18”X24”
Rag Rug Weaving Session 2

Twined Basket Weaving
Unwind from your weekday by working with your hands and picking up a new skill: Basket Weaving. Students will learn the fundamentals of the craft and take home a small, freshly woven basket as well as the know-how to continue a new hobby! We will be using traditional rattan basket reed, all materials included.
Potato Printing
Learn the basics of block-printing with potatoes on tea towels! Students will begin this class by choosing one or two basic shapes to carve into potatoes. These carved potatoes will be used as a stamp to create beautifully patterned tea towels. Students will get to take home 2 printed tea towels to use at home. All materials included.

Teachers will be there for one-on-one guidance and to walk you through a series of different weave structures and color combinations. You will then cut your sampler off the loom and finish it before the session is over. Materials included in cost. This session is geared towards beginners, to further explore more advanced weave structures, check out our class on Oct 18th.
